Mainland wins civil engineering contract

Mainland Contractors will undertake the foundations, drainage and enabling works on the new Voyager School in Peterborough and on the extensions to the existing Jack Hunt and Ken Stimpson Schools at Werrington.

"This will be the first time working with Bouygues UK Ltd," said Allan Rogers, Mainland's Construction Director. "...they have a reputation of being a first class employer, and we are looking forward to working once again in Peterborough, an area targeted for growth."

Works to be completed by the Mainland team include: placement of 10,000m³ of structural concrete for the bases, 2,500m assorted diameter of drainage and large external works packages. In total 25,000 tons of aggregates will be laid on all three locations.

Mainland's element of the works is scheduled for completion at the end of August 2006.
